bink's forthcoming Camino graphic novel!

I'm super proud of & excited for bink:
she has signed with an agent to represent her book Reliquary!
It's "a memoir-style graphic novel about AIDS, death, my dear friend Jimmy Dohr, and walking the Camino de Santiago.

Here's a sample page from her website:
Her book started as a straightforward depiction of what it's like to walk the Camino---some segments here:
My Camino Real.

Feedback of that first version was, "readers lost interest," i.e. it was boring---which means she accurately caught the experience of walking the Camino, which is about as interesting as  Andy Warhol's 5+ hours film of someone sleeping.
It's like walk, walk, walk, sit, sit, sit, PAINPAINPAIN[small revelation] walk, walk, walk...
Repeat.

However, art is not about accuracy, eh? That's like a map that is the actual size of the location covered...
So she revised the entire thing, and it's so great! She and the agent will be making more revisions this summer, then it goes on the market...

Very heartening to read, I think in part because the idea of art and honesty about feeling being partners in this case. I assume you will do an announcement when it is available?

Art + honest feeling, yes!

I will for sure announce when it gets picked up, and then it'll probably be a while before it's available.
